Welcome to this week's self-compassion video.
We've all heard that the "shoulds" in general are bad for us. They're usually fueled by guilt, expectations, or pressure. Sometimes they are foisted upon us by other people. Most often we place them upon ourselves.
On the self-compassion path, I have
come to I believe there are "good shoulds" and "not so good shoulds."
Befriending is a "good should." This is the subject of our video this week.
It's wise and loving to be a good friend to someone. There are benefits to friendship. We thrive through life because of our friendships and the same principle applies to the friendship we offer
ourselves.
My new blog post speaks to this too: "What's A Good Should?" featuring a true story from one of
my newsletter readers.
We all want the world to be a better place. We'd be supremely happy if love and friendship were the key rules by which people played. The truth is if we want a more loving universe, we must begin within ourselves. Be a friend to yourself. Then you'll be a better
friend to others.
Watch this week's video and learn how.
Enjoy and have a gentle week!
