Welcome to this week's self-compassion video.
Sometimes life is just plain difficult. And those of us who are "tough cookies" know that we can push through anything have a hard time acknowledging that we ARE having a tough time. Do you do this? Deny your own suffering and just soldier on?
I used to, until
I learned that soldiering on was making me very ill, tense, anxious and not fun to be around.
I loved the relief that came when I could stop to admit, "Wow, this is really difficult for me right now. I'm having a hard time." It let me do three things:
1.Be a human being. (Instead of an overly responsible perfectionist.)
2. Calm down.
3. Extend
understanding toward myself when I was struggling.
These 3 things felt really GOOD! And, over time, done repeatedly, they brought a new sense of calm and self-kindness into my life.
This week's video shows you how you can do this process, too.
You do not need to struggle through your day. You can get relief by acknowledging moments of difficulty and doing the kindest thing—breathe, acknowledge, let go. Ahhhh. Self-compassion brings
relief!
Enjoy and have a supremely kind week.
