The First Big Obstacle to Good Self-Care
Welcome to this week's self-compassion video. 

Last week, I announced that I would be doing a 4-part series on "The Four P's": Four BIG things that keep us from taking good care of ourselves in a kind way.

Today's video features Obstacle#1: Permission

I'd like to back up this video with a snippet adapted from my book, Coming Home to Ourselves.

"I challenge you to give yourself permission to do all that you can to honor your best self. When you do, you will find over time that your personal well feels wonderfully full and, because, you have nurtured yourself appropriately, others around you will benefit. When they come to you to have their needs met, you will be able to offer them sustenance from the overflow of your inner well-being. Good self-care benefits everyone."

As I invited you in the video, reflect on what prevents you from giving yourself permission to be kind to you. By acknowledging this obstacle, you can begin the process of engaging in better self-care. It begins with awareness, pure and simple. 

In the next few weeks, I'll be sharing ways that you can begin to overcome these four obstacles. You are precious and beautiful. You know that don't you? And worth every bit of self-love you can muster.
