Lovely friend,

I hope you are well and flourishing! We are full-on into the season of thankfulness but, I imagine many of us could be struggling with it. These are challenging times to be alive.

My newsletter this month features a video—the story of the breakthrough moment when gratitude became my spiritual practice. It came during one of the most difficult times in my life. I wonder if you can relate.
Gratitude as a spiritual practice is not for sissies. It invites us to be courageous and strong, to look at what's happening in our lives with truthfulness; to acknowledge our struggle and, yet, seek the blessings within. This requires a risk-taking, wide-open heart.

It's because I believe that thankfulness may be the missing link right now in these challenging times that I've written this new book. "Thank You" Is My Prayer. This book holds my heart—my questions & learnings, petitions & pleas—and I am hoping it can hold yours too. A heart full of gratitude can be our guide, our practice, our refuge. Our joy!

Many blessings to you, always,
Jan

"Today, savor your memories. Take time to remember when things were good and pleasant for you. Honor and give thanks for the special people with whom you have shared special times. These experiences with these particular people shaped you and helped you become the beautiful being you are today."

New at the blog:

I heard  the call to post this today, the day after our U.S. elections. May it call you, invite you, to come back to center. Some of us see the election outcome as a tragedy. Some see it as a blessing. Somewhere in the middle lies healing, peace and understanding.

This is a prayer, a reflection of comfort, for those who are ailing. May it serve you well, each and every one.

"It is difficult to see the good in any tragic situation.
Our unceasing cries of “Why?” ring out in the night.
We can intellectualize why,
we can guess and offer an answer ....
